live, love, change

Fun fact about Alexis Tuttle. I am irrevocably, hopelessly, shamefully, and whole-heartedly in love.......... with CHANGE. It's something I need and crave in my life when I get stuck in a rut. A change of scenery, change of relationships, change of weather, change of style, change of hair color, change of home. Change is a constant in my life, and I can't stand to be in one place or state of being for too long. I guess I'm just a mover and a shaker for lack of better terms. I like to be meeting NEW people, seeing NEW things, experiencing NEW feelings. To give you an idea of how serious I am about loving change, here was my last year or so in a nutshell:
Graduated High School early (in CA)
Worked full time as a receptionist for my Dad's CPA firm
Moved to Utah
Moved to Hawaii and attended BYU Hawaii for a semester
Moved back to Utah and enjoyed a Summer break
Moved to Idaho and attended BYU Idaho
Now at the end of this semester, I will be moving (yet again) back to Utah and attending the Utah College of Dental Hygiene.... where I will be for the next ... DUN DUN DUN... year and a half!! That will be the longest period of time that I have spent in one place in over a year. I'm not too nervous about that though, because I will be surrounded by my family, the people I love most. That's one thing in my life that I never EVER want to change: my family and the wonderful relationships I possess with each member of it. One thing I always tell myself is that I will know I have found my future husband when I choose him over my family.
Change is a big, and necessary part of my life. But that doesn't mean that I am not happy with where I am. I think that often, people assume that I move on really fast and get so eager to replace old with new that I'm never content with where I am in life.... which is true to an extent. I am always wanting to grow as a person and expand my horizons, but that doesn't mean that I'm not happy. I believe that I am as happy now as I have ever been, butttttt, I'm also more eager for change than I have ever been. Growing and changing is a part of life... a part that some people struggle with and some people thrive with. But it happens regardless of whether we want it to or not, so I guess I just learned at a young age to roll with the punches life throws at me, and make every experience with change a positive experience.
To quote Rosanne Cash,The key to change... is to let go of fear.
Accepting change is like riding a bike for the first time, it's new, and scary, but it's exhilarating. :)
 Live, love, CHANGE.
